Description:

The Senior Digital Communications Specialist/Web Designer position will be involved in creating and maintaining several corporate web sites – including internal, external, and secure portal presences. Person will also be a resource to staff for an ambitious mass e-mail program, enhance social media strategies for a relatively new initiative, and participate in a variety of more traditional corporate communications activities.

Responsibilities

Individual must be able to prepare materials that implement the company's voice, guidelines, and disciplined approval process. Proficiency in HTML 5, CSS, Javascript, etc. is required as well as standard Microsoft Office programs, graphic arts software, and/or web design tools.  You must be organized and be able to successfully juggle multiple duties and deadlines.  We are growing and need someone who can hit the ground running, so we are looking for a person that shows both good discipline and initiative!

 

  • Maintain existing web site content (a significant portion of the job) and participate in designing/creating new interfaces as needed.
  • Serve as a technical resource to other members of the department for tasks as varied as creating new templates used by IT to incorporating related technologies such as video.
  • Enhance SEO-friendly strategies.
  • Develop on-line forms and surveys.
  • Create electronic ads for trade publications.
  • Participate in a variety of traditional Corporate Communications activities, which could range from preparation of highly technical business documents to those prepared for our customers.

Qualifications

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Attention to detail and accuracy
  • Bachelor’s degree in a related discipline
  • At last five years experience with digital and corporate communications – especially hands-on web site development
  • Strong organizational skills
