    Our new Personal Lines Underwriting Unit is a fast-paced, service-oriented, and production driven department. As a team leader, you will be the contact point for all team members, so your communication skills should be excellent. You should also be able to act pro-actively to ensure smooth team operations and productive collaboration. The Team Lead is responsible for monitoring workflow, accurately document processes, improve and update process documents, and work the workflow during peak times. 


    Currently, the position will report to the SVP of Personal Lines and is responsible for the day to day operations of the Personal Lines Underwriting Team.

    Supervision and oversight of Small Business staff to include production, quality, and training for both new Underwriting Analysts and existing staff.

    • Management of workflow and Service Levels 
    • Regular communication with agents 
    • Responding to any escalated customer calls and/or e-mails Monitoring daily production within the unit
    • Create an inspiring team environment with an open communication culture
    • Set clear team goals 
    • Delegate tasks and set deadlines 
    • Oversee day-to-day operation 
    • Monitor team performance and report on metrics 
    • Motivate team members 
    • Discover training needs and provide coaching Listen to team members’ feedback and resolve any issues or conflicts 
    • Recognize high performance and reward accomplishments 
    • Encourage creativity and risk-taking 
    • Underwrite accounts during peak times


    • Excellent PC skills, especially MS Excel 
    • Excellent communication and leadership skills 
    • Organizational and time-management skills 
    • Decision-making skills 
    • Prior Supervisory experience is preferred but not required
    • Prior Personal Lines Insurance experience strongly preferred
