The Critical Account Team is part of Underwriting and was created in order to make sure we were spending the right amount of time on accounts that require a more in depth analysis, such as policies with suspected fraud, policies that have been cancelled and are looking to backdate coverage, payroll bill accounts where there is a large variance between the exposure submitted and the payroll that has been reported and other unique situations. Candidate will be responsible for reviewing requests to backdate coverage, reinstatement requests and various escalations across all commercial lines insurance policies.  If you are attentive to detail, possess strong critical thinking skills and strive for excellence, then the Critical Accounts Team may be the right place for you!

• Utilize numerous internet applications to analyze requests
• Review account history to determine appropriate action
• Work closely with Customer Service, Underwriting Services and Claims when necessary
• Recognize and report potential system, personnel or agency issues
• Provide decisions utilizing company underwriting criteria
• Communicate with agency staff to provide detailed explanations of resolutions

• 3+ years of insurance underwriting experience in all commercial lines required.
• Candidate must have strong investigative and critical thinking skills as well as the ability to apply them in a manner that protects the company’s interest while also providing the most amicable solution possible. 
• Must also learn and apply policy provisions and applicable statutes when determining a course of action. 
• Strong communication and documentation skills are also imperative. 
• Must be a team player that is able to work in a fast-paced environment in a hybrid work model.
