Responsibilities

The RISC Associate - Audit Trainee is responsible for performing an independent review and verification of insureds operations/ classification upon policy assignment from NCCI or state specific plan administrators. Responsible for accurately determining the policy premium for Workers Compensation policies by performing Preliminary and final audits. This is done through an audit of policyholders’ books and records either through the mail, over the phone, or via an on-site audit at the policyholder’s location. The applicant will need to operate within the Servicing Carrier Performance Standards and state specific regulated guidelines.

  • Perform mail and telephone audits from our home office location in Wilkes-Barre, PA
  • Serve as the primary contact for policyholders throughout the audit process by providing superior customer service, follow up, education, and explanations of the audit function to help facilitate satisfactory completion of the audit within predetermined timeliness
  • Review audit worksheets, payroll journals, distribution journals, tax documentation, and various other ad-hoc reports as needed to determine chargeable exposures in accordance with applicable state laws and manuals
  • Review operations of business through the use of telephone interviews, audit worksheets, file documentation, applications, and Internet searches to validate classifications are properly assigned to the policy in accordance with applicable state laws and manuals
  • Complete audit worksheets using an excel template and process the audit findings in our proprietary policy system
