BH GUARD currently offers an excellent opportunity for an experienced Head of Product Development over Small Commercial package to guide our next stage of growth at Berkshire Hathaway Guard Insurance Companies.

The position can be located in either Wilkes-Barre, PA, New York, NY, Philadelphia, PA, and Parsippany, NJ. 

 

 

We are looking for someone with a minimum of 10 years of progressive experience in commercial products.  The candidate will build upon our success selling insurance products to small businesses to drive growth of small commercial package business with our agents. The role will be high profile within BH Guard and will have exposure to Senior Management. Expertise in industry trends, state regulations, and compliance processes required.

Responsibilities

  • Leads the development and enhancement of forms and forms language, including design, development and implementation of system and process solutions.
  • Owns the forms implementation strategy, including to but not limited to mandatory vs. optional forms and opt-in vs. opt-out strategies.
  • Owns the systematic offering for coverage including development and enhancement of customer experiences related to coverage.
  • Leverages expertise of each state's regulatory environment and legislative rules to ensure that compliance standards are met.
  • Collaborate with training and marketing to develop communication, training, and marketing materials in support of new or enhanced products and initiatives.
  • Manages underwriting audit strategy, procedures and templates.
  • Facilitates collaboration with claims to establish and maintain Underwriting and Product feedback loop.
  • Owns ISO circular analysis and adoption strategy pertaining to forms and rules.
  • Own competitor intelligence strategy pertaining to ISO adoption and limit rules.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree preferred with concentration in Risk Management, Business, Economics, Finance, Math, Statistics or Actuarial Sciences
  • JD or legal experience preferred but not required
  • 10 + years of Commercial Product or Underwriting experience.
  • Must exhibit expertise in industry trends, state regulations, and compliance processes.
  • Must promote and exemplify data driven decision-making.
  • Promotes and exemplifies a culture of collaboration, including stakeholders at various levels and in various departments.

 

Salary Range

$165,000-$300,000.00 USD with performance based bonus potential

 

The successful candidate is expected to work in one of our offices 3-4 days per week and also be available for travel as required.

The annual base salary range posted represents a broad range of salaries around the U.S. and is subject to many factors including but not limited to credentials, education, experience, geographic location, job responsibilities, performance, skills and/or training.
