We are seeking an experienced and dynamic professional for the position of Vice President of Programs with 10 + years of expertise in Property and Casualty Programs to lead our programs area, The VP of Programs Operations will lead our programs and will work closely with the programs underwriting team. They will be responsible for all aspects related to the program to ensure profitable and successful programs relationships. The VP of Programs will work with a variety of internal partners to ensue the operational aspects of the programs are working well. They will work with the data analytics to monitor and analyze the programs to identify needed areas of improvement or adjustments to the portfolio. The candidate will keep executive leadership informed about key information on the programs. 

 

We are looking to fill this role in either New York, NY, Parsippany, NJ. Philadelphia, PA, Wilkes-Barre, PA, Atlanta, GA, or Boston, MA. The successful candidate is expected to work in one of our offices 3-days per week and also be available for travel as required.

Responsibilities

  • Program Management: Work closely with the Program Administrators and communicate regularly with the Programs underwriting team.  Regular travel to program administrator’s offices and attending industry conventions will be required. 
  • Collaboration: Work closely with AVP of Programs Underwriting and Chief Insurance Officer. 
  • Monitoring and Analysis:Monitor key projects, programs, and relationships using demographic and claims data to identify trends and provide strategic recommendations. Develop and monitor program specific demographics and other reports.  
  • Operations:Ensure all aspect of programs operations are working well.Work with appropriate areas within BH Guard and Program administrators to address any operational issues. 
  • ISO Expertise:Demonstrate expertise in ISO products and coverage including experience with filings and handling state objections on new filings. 
  • Meeting Facilitation:Facilitate meetings with internal and external participants. 
  • Project Leadership: Lead demographics and ad-hoc portfolio management projects and analysis. 
  • Lead program auditsWork with the underwriting team to conduct audits to monitor compliance with program underwriting guidelines. 
  • Compliance: Make sure complaints and state exams are properly handled working with State Filings and Compliance. 
  • Expansion Discussions: Conduct meetings with external partners to discuss potential program expansions.   
  • Current Portfolio Oversight:Candidate will oversee seven active programs with $300M in premium with the potential to add additional programs in the future.  
  • New Program Due Diligence:  Lead due diligence efforts on new program opportunities utilizing appropriate internal resources to review program prospects. 

Qualifications

  • 10 + years of experience in Property and Casualty Programs. 
  • Commercial Package Underwriting experience desired. 
  • Professional liability experience is a plus. 
  • Prior experience in program management is essential.
  • Strong Communication skills for both internal and external stakeholders.
  • Experience in MS Excel required
  • Ability to handle complaints, state data calls, state exams, data related projects and round table discussions effectively. 
  • Ability to travel to visit Program Administrators.

Salary Range

$150,000-$250,000.00 USD with performance based bonus potential

 The annual base salary range posted represents a broad range of salaries around the U.S. and is subject to many factors including but not limited to credentials, education, experience, geographic location, job responsibilities, performance, skills and/or training.
