We are currently searching for a Legal Counsel with 5-8 years of relevant law firm or corporate legal department experience to assist with litigation tasks and advice in the Corporate Legal Department, including: monitoring first party property insurance coverage litigation and other litigation overseeing outside counsel; developing legal strategies to resolve first party property and other insurance coverage litigation; providing assessments of potential liability and potential damages in first party property and other insurance coverage litigation; and providing legal advice for first party property litigation and and third-party liability coverage litigation. 

Experience with first party property insurance coverage litigation is a plus.  We offer a collegial and supportive work environment. The position can be located in Wilkes-Barre, PA, New York, NY, Philadelphia, PA, or Parsippany, NJ.

• Monitor and determine strategy for insurance coverage litigation and other litigation against the company, and oversee outside counsel.
• Analyze regulatory issues and provide legal advice to management.
• Review and investigate claims referred to the legal department for coverage determinations.
• Monitor coverage litigation and litigation against the company.
• Respond to legal questions from other departments in the company regarding laws, regulations, and other legal issues.  

   

  Salary Range: $100,000-$170,000 USD

  The successful candidate is expected to work in one of our offices 3-4 days per week and also be available for travel as required.

  The annual base salary range posted represents a broad range of salaries around the U.S. and is subject to many factors including but not limited to credentials, education, experience, geographic location, job responsibilities, performance, skills and/or training.

• Bachelor’s degree from accredited university
• J.D.
• Admission to NY, NJ, or PA Bar
• 5-8 years’ relevant experience in law firm or corporate legal department
