Salary Range
$80,000.00-$150,000.00 USD 
The successful candidate is expected to work in one of our offices 3 days per week and also be available for travel as required.
The annual base salary range posted represents a broad range of salaries around the U.S. and is subject to many factors including but not limited to credentials, education, experience, geographic location, job responsibilities, performance, skills and/or training.

Responsibilities

As a Scrum Master Extraordinaire, the ideal candidate will play a pivotal role in coordinating and coaching Data Product and Data Platform teams while ensuring agile delivery through Azure DevOps. You will not only guide teams using Scrum, Kanban and Scrumban, but also innovatively leverage ADO’s built-in capabilities to optimize delivery, enhance transparency, and drive agility at scale.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Facilitate Scrum Ceremonies – Lead daily stand-ups, sprint planning, sprint reviews, and retrospectives, ensuring the team is aligned and continuously improving.
  2. Azure DevOps Backlog Management – Utilize ADO work items to maintain a structured, prioritized backlog, ensuring transparency and clear workflow management.
  3. Portfolio Management Using Delivery Plans – Leverage ADO Delivery Plans to create a holistic portfolio view across various initiatives, tracking dependencies and cross-team collaboration.
  4. Sprint Planning & Execution in ADO – Configure ADO sprint boards, ensuring effective iteration planning while maximizing throughput.
  5. Data-Driven Agile Insights – Automate reporting using ADO Queries and Dashboards to provide real-time visibility into team velocity, cycle time, and sprint health.
  6. Process Improvement through ADO Customization – Extend ADO beyond default features by configuring custom workflows, automation rules, and integrations to align with agile best practices.
  7. Impediment Resolution & Risk Mitigation – Identify roadblocks within the sprint cycle and proactively resolve them using ADO Issue Tracking and Alerts.
  8. Stakeholder Communication & Reporting – Automate status reporting using ADO Analytics & Power BI integrations, ensuring leadership and stakeholders have access to actionable insights.
  9. Supporting Data Product Lifecycle – Guide teams throughout discovery, development, deployment, and maintenance, ensuring agile methodologies align with product goals.
  10. Continuous Improvement & Agile Coaching – Regularly assess agile maturity, drive best practices, and foster a culture of iterative improvements using ADO retrospective analytics.

Qualifications

  • Degree in Computer Science, Business, or similar field.
  • Certified Scrum Master (CSM) or equivalent Agile certification.
  • Professional work experience of 5 to 6 years in the role of a senior agile scrum master.
  • Proven experience applying agile frameworks within Azure DevOps to drive efficiency and transparency.
  • Extensive knowledge of Scrum, Kanban, Scrumban, and agile delivery methodologies.
  • Proven experience as a Scrum Master in a data-focused environment.
  • Ability to configure and customize Azure DevOps features beyond default functionality to enhance agile execution.
  • Strong analytical skills with experience in ADO data-driven reporting and portfolio visualization.
  • Understanding of data product management principles.
  • Ability to identify dependencies and solve associated problems creatively and effectively.
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills.
