Responsibilities

The Claims Manager will oversee the Liability Claims Unit, ensuring the effective management of litigated complex claims with a focus on quality, compliance, and operational efficiency. This role involves strategic leadership, staff development, and collaboration with internal and external parties to achieve optimal claims outcomes.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead, manage, and mentor a team of claims professionals handling Complex Liability throughout the United States.
  • Review, analyze, and approve claim reserves to ensure adequacy, accuracy, and compliance with company guidelines.
  • Monitor claim files for proper investigation, evaluation, negotiation, and resolution in alignment with best practices and legal requirements.
  • Develop and implement training programs to enhance technical expertise and professional development of the claims staff.
  • Conduct regular file audits to ensure adherence to company policies, regulatory requirements, and industry standards.
  • Attend mediations, trials, and conferences
  • Collaborate with internal departments such as Underwriting, Legal, SIU, and Actuarial to support claims handling strategies and business objectives.
  • Provide technical guidance and support on complex, high-exposure, or litigated claims.
  • Prepare and deliver reports on claim trends, key performance indicators, and departmental metrics to senior management.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency, reduce costs, and enhance service levels to our insureds.
  • Works and manages preferred vendors to help assist in claim adjustment such as attorneys, accountants, and independent adjusters.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong organizational and computer skills
  • Excellent time management skills with the ability to prioritize
