Responsibilities

We are hiring a Director of Property Claims to oversee Commercial Property, Inland Marine, and Estimate Review teams. This role is responsible for team performance, claim handling results, and vendor management.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage and develop a property claims team and estimate review team, including performance oversight
  • Oversee the full lifecycle of non-litigated property claims, including catastrophe (CAT) events
  • Ensure claims are handled in accordance with coverage, estimating, reserving, and documentation standards
  • Review claim data to identify trends related to cycle time, claim severity, and expenses
  • Recommend and implement process improvements based on claim performance results
  • Monitor vendor performance, including service quality, cost, and compliance
  • Work with underwriting, legal, subrogation, and loss control teams on claim trends and operational issues
  • Provide guidance on escalated claims and support resolution efforts

 

Qualifications

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Insurance, Risk Management, or related field preferred
  • 7–10+ years of property claims experience, including commercial property and/or inland marine
  • 3–5+ years of leadership experience, including direct oversight of team performance
  • Experience using data and metrics to manage claim operations and vendor performance
  • Professional designations (e.g., CPCU, AIC) preferred
  • Licensing Requirement: Candidates must hold an active adjuster license or be willing and able to obtain and maintain all required state licenses. The company will support the licensing process, including training and compliance with ongoing continuing education requirements.

 

Skills

  • Experience with property claim handling, coverage interpretation, and estimating tools (e.g., Xactimate, Xactanalysis, Cotality, Vexcel)
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and reporting tools (e.g., Power BI)
  • Knowledge of insurance practices, regulatory requirements, and claim processes
  • Ability to manage team performance, coaching, and workload distribution
  • Strong written and verbal communication, negotiation, and conflict resolution skills

 

Salary $110,000 - $180,000 + bonus
 
In accordance with applicable pay transparency laws, this range represents a good‐faith estimate. Final compensation will be determined based on factors such as experience, credentials, geographic location, and other considerations permitted by law.

 

This role may be based out of one of our following office locations:
Parsippany, NJ; Conshohocken, PA; and Wilkes‑Barre, PA.
