Responsibilities

 

This role leads the end-to-end filing process for complex insurance products across multiple states and lines of business. You’ll own filing strategy, manage regulatory submissions, and work directly with regulators to move filings forward.

 

You’ll also partner closely with Product, Actuarial, Compliance, Underwriting, and IT to ensure filings are accurate, approved on time, and ready for implementation. In addition, you’ll review work from other analysts and support team development.

 

What You’ll Do

  • Own and manage complex, multi-state filings from start to approval
  • Develop filing strategies for new products, revisions, and regulatory updates
  • Serve as the go-to resource for state filing requirements and SERFF processes
  • Communicate directly with regulators to address objections and move filings to approval
  • Identify dependencies and coordinate across teams to keep filings on track
  • Provide regulatory guidance to Product, Actuarial, Underwriting, and leadership
  • Review filings from other analysts to ensure accuracy and completeness
  • Support and guide junior team members
  • Track regulatory changes and evaluate business impact
  • Improve filing processes and documentation standards
  • Work across multiple commercial lines of business

 

Qualifications

What You'll Bring

 

Education 

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience preferred. 

Experience 

  • 5-10 years of insurance regulatory filing experience, preferably at an admitted commercial lines carrier. 
  • Expertise across multiple lines of business including BOP, Commercial Auto, Property, General Liability, Workers Compensation, Professional Liability, and packaged products. 
  • Advanced knowledge of SERFF, state filing requirements, ISO, NCCI, and regulatory approval processes. 
  • Demonstrated ability to independently manage highly complex filing initiatives. 

Skills & Competencies 

  • Functions as a trusted filing and regulatory subject matter expert. 
  • Successfully manages the organization’s most complex filings. 
  • Develops and mentors less experienced analysts. 
  • Drives improvements in filing quality, efficiency, and governance 
  • Demonstrates strong filing strategy and problem-solving capabilities.
